Squad Super League II
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is it mandatory for all squads in Etiqa or SP6 to join?
No, participation is voluntary, but it is a great opportunity to showcase impact, drive business improvements, and win rewards!
How should squads be set up?
– Squads are self-selecting, and members can be from one or multiple departments.
– There is no limitation on squad size, but ideally, squads should be between 6 β 10 members for optimal collaboration.
– Squads should focus on impacting Weekly Business Review (WBR) charts through measurable initiatives.
Can the squad be based on a specific team? (e.g., all designers, all developers, etc.)?
Yes, as long as the squad has a clear business problem or goal and is working on initiatives that directly impact the WBR charts.
Can squad members be changed after the Squad Super League starts?
Yes, squad membership is flexible, but changes must be communicated to ensure the correct individuals receive rewards.
Can I be in multiple squads at the same time?
No. Each participant can only be part of one squad to ensure focused contributions.
Must the squad and members be registered in Connectiqa?
No, registration in Connectiqa is not required for SSL 2. However, squads must submit their details through the official SSL 2 submission process to be considered.
How do squads choose which WBR chart to impact?
Squads should select a WBR metric that aligns with their business area and where they believe they can make measurable improvements. During the Data Workshop, squads will receive guidance on:
– How to interpret WBR data
– Identifying meaningful areas for improvement
– Setting realistic impact targets
– If squads need additional support, they can consult with the Data Team before finalizing their selection.
Can a squad change its WBR chart or initiative after starting?
Yes, but only before the consultative session with Mr. Amran and the Data Team. After a squad has gone through the consultative phase, their WBR focus should remain unchanged to ensure consistency in tracking progress.
If a squad encounters unexpected business shifts, they should raise it with the SSL Committee for guidance.
Can squads collaborate with other teams?
Yes! Squads can and are encouraged to collaborate with other teams across Etiqa to:
– Leverage expertise from different business areas
– Ensure alignment with existing business objectives
– Strengthen data interpretation and execution
– However, each squad remains responsible for its own impact tracking and reporting.

What does a "culture of experimentation" mean in SSL 2?
A culture of experimentation means iterating quickly, testing ideas with real data, and continuously learning. Instead of spending too much time debating or perfecting an idea before execution, SSL 2 encourages teams to implement, measure impact, and refine based on results.
πΉ Key principles of experimentation:
β Data over opinions β Decisions should be based on measurable outcomes, not personal preferences.
β Focus on impact, not just execution β Avoid celebrating a “go-live” without ensuring meaningful business results.
β Continuous feedback β Teams should iterate based on actual insights from WBR tracking.
Is Squad Super League 2 only for new projects, or can existing projects participate?
SSL 2 is open to both existing and new initiatives. However, projects must:
– Demonstrate measurable impact on WBR charts
– Have clear, trackable metrics
– Be structured in a way that allows continuous progress and refinement
– Teams working on large ongoing projects should define specific impact areas rather than submitting broad initiatives.
Do squads need to present their projects during SSL 2?
Yes, but not in a traditional demo format. Squads will engage in:
– Sprint reviews β Regular check-ins to assess progress and effectiveness.
– Shark Tank session β A final presentation where squads formalize their initiatives with SMC after initial validation by the Data Team.
– The Shark Tank session is not an approval process but a formalization stage after consultative sessions with En Amran and the Data Team.
Do I have to submit all my MVPs at the beginning?
No. You only need to submit MVPs as you progress. During the 3 months, you may ideate more new MVPs that you did not think of at the start, based on the outcome of earlier MVPs.
Will there be another round of Squad Super League after this?
SSL 2 is structured as a data-driven experiment. The continuation of the program will be based on:
Effectiveness in improving business impact
– Quality of insights generated from WBR tracking
– Feedback from participating squads and stakeholders
– If SSL 2 proves successful, it may be refined and continued with improvements.
What support will squads receive throughout SSL 2?

Mechanism
How will squads be reviewed? What are the key criteria?
Squads will be evaluated based on:
β Impact on Weekly Business Review (WBR) charts β Squads must demonstrate measurable progress in key business metrics.
β Quality of insights generated β Ability to extract meaningful learnings from data.
β Effectiveness of execution β Teams should show continuous improvement and clear progress toward their goals.
β Adherence to structured iteration β Squads must demonstrate a data-driven approach with measurable milestones.
What is the process for squad validation?
The validation process consists of three key steps:
π Step 1: Data Workshop Session
Squads will attend a structured Data Workshop to learn how to use the data that feeds into WBR charts.
The session will focus on retrieving, interpreting, and applying data insights to track business impact effectively.
π Step 2: Consultative Session with Mr. Amran & Data Team
Squads will receive one-on-one guidance on refining their initiatives, ensuring they have clear, rational targets aligned with WBR impact.
This step ensures that only high-potential initiatives move forward.
π Step 3: Shark Tank with GMC/SMC
This session serves as a formalization stage, where validated initiatives are presented to SMC.
The Shark Tank is not an approval process, as unsuitable initiatives will have been filtered out during the consultative stage.
Is SSL 2 only for new squads, or can existing teams participate?
Both existing teams already working on WBR impact and new squads can participate, provided their initiatives contribute to measurable business improvements.
Do squads need to submit reports? What is required?
Yes, squads must submit a final report that includes:
π Overall squad goal and key metric
π Baseline and target achievement
π Weekly progress tracking
π Key insights and learnings
π Data validation supporting business impact
How do we ensure squads are meeting SSL 2 objectives?
The Squad Super League Committee will conduct periodic reviews to assess adherence to the structured process.
Squads will be responsible for demonstrating their impact on WBR charts through structured tracking and validation.
Are international participants eligible for rewards?
Yes, but monetary rewards may be replaced with alternative recognition based on policy restrictions. This will be clearly communicated to all participants.
What happens if a squad does not reach its target?
If a squad does not meet its WBR improvement target, they:
-Will not be disqualified, but their results will be reviewed
-May receive partial rewards, depending on the level of impact achieved
-Will still be encouraged to share lessons learned to contribute to future iterations of SSL
-The goal is continuous improvement, not just hitting targetsβinsights from missed targets can still be valuable.
What should squads focus on to maximize their chances of success?
Pick a WBR metric that is measurable and meaningful
πΉ Ensure alignment with existing business goals
πΉ Leverage data insights effectively
πΉ Engage in continuous iteration and improvement
πΉ Communicate with stakeholders to track progress transparently
Success in SSL 2 is not just about hitting a numberβitβs about creating real business impact through data-driven decision-making.
Tracking
How will squad progress be tracked?
Squad progress will be measured through impact on WBR charts, rather than MVP submissions. The key tracking elements include:
β Weekly data submissions β Squads must provide updates on their chosen WBR metric(s).
β Business impact tracking β Squads must demonstrate how their initiatives are improving business outcomes.
β Structured reviews β The SSL Committee and Data Team will monitor submissions and provide feedback.
What happens if a squad misses a data submission?
Squads are required to submit weekly data updates on their progress. If a squad fails to submit data without valid reasoning, they may be removed from SSL 2.
However, if a squad provides strong evidence that their initiative has reached a stable or conclusive result, they may stop submitting new data while working on the next phase of their initiative.
If a squad is removed from SSL 2, do they still need to submit reports?
No, squads that exit SSL 2 are no longer required to submit reports. However, they will not be eligible for any rewards or recognition.
If a squad makes early progress but does not submit updates for later stages, will they still be eligible for rewards?
No, squads must continuously track and submit data throughout SSL 2 to remain eligible for rewards. One-time success without sustained measurement will not qualify for rewards.
Where can squads view tracking progress and leaderboards?
Tracking progress will be available on the Squad Super League website. However, SSL 2 is not a competition between squads, and rewards will be based on meeting impact criteria, rather than ranking.
How will squads be measured, and how can they see feedback?
Squads will be measured based on:
π Consistency and accuracy of data submissions
π Demonstrated improvement in WBR metrics
π‘ Insights and lessons learned from data trends
Feedback will be provided through:
Regular check-ins from the SSL Committee and Data Team
Consultative sessions for squads that need guidance
Periodic data reviews and structured reporting feedback
Will individual squad members be measured separately?
No, SSL 2 focuses on squad performance as a whole rather than individual contributions. The impact will be assessed at the squad level based on overall business improvement.
What if a squad faces challenges with data access or interpretation?
If a squad struggles to retrieve or interpret relevant data, they should:
-Reach out to the Data Team for guidance
-Attend additional support sessions provided by SSL 2 organizers
-Collaborate with teams that have data expertise
-Ensuring proper data use is a core part of SSL 2βs goal to embed a data-driven culture.
